Wistfare Cinema
These terms are an agreement between you and Wistfare Ltd, a company registered in Rwanda with the Rwanda Development Board, whose registered office is at Cercle Sportif, Kiyovu, Nyarugenge, Kigali, Rwanda. "We" and "Wistfare" mean Wistfare Ltd; "you" means the person using the app.
By using Wistfare Cinema you agree to these terms. If you do not, please do not use the app.
Wistfare Ltd is a private company limited by shares registered with the Rwanda Development Board (Company Code / TIN 123138778), registered office Cercle Sportif, Kiyovu, Nyarugenge, Kigali, Rwanda.
1. The short version
- Credits you buy are yours until you spend them. They never expire, and we do not take them back.
- We never charge you without a tap. Auto-unlock is off unless you switch it on, and you can cap your monthly spend.
- An episode you paid for is yours to keep — even if the series is later paused, archived or removed.
- VIP renews automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not refund the period you are in.
2. Your account
You can browse, search and watch free episodes without signing in at all.
To buy or spend credits you need a Google or Apple account. We never ask you to create a password and we never store one. One provider identity is one Wistfare account — the same email address at Google and at Apple are two different accounts.
You must be at least 13 to have an account, and you must give your date of birth honestly at the age check: it is the only thing keeping under-18s out of 18+ series. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you lose your phone, use Settings → Account & data → Sign out of all devices; it takes effect immediately.
3. Credits
Credits are a prepaid balance, not currency. They hold no cash value outside Wistfare, and there is no way to cash them out.
- They do not expire.
- Spent credits are non-refundable, except where local law requires otherwise.
- If you delete your account, any remaining credits are forfeited. The app shows you how many you would lose before you confirm.
You can buy credits in the app, or on our website where the same money buys about 30% more because the app stores' fees do not apply there. You can also earn them: a daily check-in streak, watching a rewarded ad (up to five a day), sharing an episode, referring someone who actually watches, turning on notifications, and completing your profile. Daily limits reset at midnight Kigali time.
We may refuse or reverse credits obtained by abusing these features — for example by creating accounts to farm referrals.
4. Unlocking episodes
Each series has free episodes to start with; after those, an episode costs credits, and the price is shown before you pay.
An unlock is permanent. An episode you paid for stays available to you even if the series is later paused, archived or taken down. This is a promise we have built the system around, not a courtesy.
Auto-unlock is off by default and we never turn it on for you. If you switch it on for a series, the next episode is unlocked and charged without a further tap. You can switch it off at any time, and you can set a monthly cap; we warn you when you reach 80% of it.
5. VIP
VIP is a subscription. Plans and prices are shown in the app before you subscribe.
- VIP renews automatically until you cancel.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not refund the period you have already paid for, and nothing changes today — you keep VIP until the period ends.
- If a renewal payment fails you get a 3-day grace period and we retry.
- VIP grants no credits. It is a separate thing from your balance.
- Half of all VIP revenue is paid into the creator pool, shared out monthly by episode completions.
If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, you must cancel through that store — Apple and Google control that subscription, not us, and we cannot cancel or refund it for you. Store purchases are also subject to that store's own terms, and refunds for them follow that store's refund policy.
VIP benefits are: unlimited unlocks, no ads, 1080p video, and 24-hour early access to new episodes.
6. Paying
You can pay by MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, card on our web checkout, or an in-app purchase through the App Store or Google Play.
Card details never reach our servers, and mobile money PINs never reach our servers. Mobile money and card payments are completed with the operator or the payment processor.
Mobile money payments are confirmed by the operator and can take a moment. If a payment fails you are not charged. If money leaves your account and the credits do not arrive, give us the operator's reference from your SMS and we will reconcile it.
7. Content and age ratings
Series carry an age rating: 13+, 16+ or 18+. You see your own tier and everything below it. If the age check has rated you 13+ or 16+, an 18+ series will not play for you.
If we do not have your date of birth, an 18+ series tells you what it contains and asks you to confirm you are over 18 before it plays.
8. Comments and behaviour
You may comment on episodes, reply, and heart other comments. What you write is yours, and you can delete your own comments at any time.
Do not post anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual content involving minors, spam, scams, or anyone's private information. Do not post spoilers outside the spoiler mask. We can remove comments that break these rules and suspend accounts that keep breaking them.
9. Reporting content
Any episode can be reported. When you report something:
- It leaves your feed straight away, before anybody has decided anything.
- Most reports are settled within minutes.
- Anything involving a child, real violence or someone in danger goes to a person immediately. A machine never closes those, and there is no confidence score that can route them anywhere else.
- Reports are anonymous. The creator is told what was wrong, never who told us. Where the law requires it, we also report to the authorities.
You get a case reference and can follow the decision in the app. You can appeal a decision once. An appeal is decided by a person, never by the model, and an appeal cannot make the outcome worse for you.
10. Creators
Creators own the work they publish. We take a share of what it earns, described in our separate Creator Terms, which apply in addition to these terms if you publish on Wistfare.
If an episode is taken down after people paid for it, the viewers who paid get their credits back, and both the creator and Wistfare return exactly what each took.
If you delete your account and you are a creator, your published series stay up under your studio name unless you delete them first — viewers have already paid for them.
11. What we can change
We add and change features. We can change prices, and we can stop offering the service — but we will not take away an episode you have already paid for, and we will tell you in the app before a price change affects a subscription you are already on.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is used fraudulently, or where the law requires it.
12. Things we do not promise
We provide the app as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted, or free of faults, and we do not promise a particular series will stay on the platform.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under Rwandan law. Beyond that, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Rwanda, and the courts of Kigali have jurisdiction over any dispute. Your personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy and under Law No. 058/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy.
